I have a 188 page catalogue from the same period.
The Heavy and Light machine shop pics are the same.
Ditto for the 2 erecting shop pics.
    Same for the Inspection department.
The pic of the Patternshop is facing the other way and a few of the machines are different.
The Testing department is quite different.
The Tool and Cutter shop isn't pictured at all, instead there is a pic of the Finished Machine Store.
Does your catalogue have the PK in it?
Mine does but I'd say it was a new item from the labelling.
Does yours have any of the WW1 aircraft gear such as the KE Automatic propeller shaper or the KF Universal propeller vise and stand.
Ill put pics of the odd pages up tomorrow.

    Thanks for sharing.
The pics certainly reinforce to me how Wadkin invested in getting the machines right as they were using their own gear in their own pattern shop.
Certainly helps with feedback on your product.

green lane 1.jpgit appears the the images are taken after the main(green lane works ) was built and the first addition was added a few years later. the expansion of the pattern shop now makes more sense as its was the demonstration room. I do no believe we have seen a line shaft pattern shop. the thicknesser is line belt and it looks like the bandsaw is to. Can't tell if the MK (Over under) is motor or not. But we do see motor drive line shaft in other images. thanks Rob for sharing . Looks like chip and belt power are from below. The image of the pattern shop is from the original structure facing green lane. I had often wounder if in fact this was the birth place of Wadkin and the first building on the property.

Why does it say north Evington on the cover which was the original factory and then have the new factory inside
Forget that I just google earthed north Evington and green lane is there.
I always thought north Evington was the original factory.
So where was the original place at?

    Default Last pic.

    Testing department.
Looks like most of the machines were hooked up to belts off line shaft for testing here.

Your pattern shop pic has a RS lathe on the left Henry , My Catalogue has Lathes but an older form that looks nothing like the RS.

Yes , I was thinking of that as well . How many good ideas were thought up in this very room for the next improvement on a machine. I wonder if that happened?

Yes - but something doesn't look quite right. I can see: the double mitre fence; the table extension for the rip fence; and one arm of the crown guard - all on the table.

But the column of the crown guard isn't mounted on the table in the usual way. It appears to be mounted on an arm that extends from out of shot. Could this be a pre-PK machine with a tilting table?

    Cheers, Vann.
