The tag if it’s still on the machine may be under that switch box.
If it has no back on it. Otherwise they took it off to fit the box maybe.

I wonder if it wasn't there (see red arrow).

    ME.jpg

Though it's a bit hard to see what I'm looking at.

Edit: Nah, I think that's the cast "Wadkin" lettering.

    Cheers, Vann.

Your Red arrow points to the raised Wadkin lettering, the below pic shows what I mean

Vann, This is a pic of the Tag, it's on your list but this one must be an identical twin because the one on your list lives in the UK

Looking at this pic Rob posted the pull down levers are small compared to what's on the actual ME machines, artistic license maybe

Also the pic shows the levers coming off one shaft but there a two shafts on the ME

Maybe the test tag on the one for sale is on the other side like your machine Nigel . That’d be good if it’s there to be seen.Theres not many ME machines to be seen.
Did the seller reply about it ?

Have you seen Andy’s machine . He’s a member here as well.

He did a fantastic job of converting it to an electric motor.

The catalog pics I added are from my 1928 catalog I’m pretty sure. I just happened to have it stored on the computer.

The seller sent me a pic of the electric motor Tag, so I went back to them to see if they could find where the Wadkin Tag might have been, Andy's ME Tag is in the same position as the one I posted, my machines are MF's and Wadkin seemed to have swapped sides for the MF's

Oops. I checked the photo and it's definitely the same one. The photo is even titled "ME 502 7747 Aus" - so I guess that's a slip up on my part. Thanks for pointing it out, I'll fix it.

    Cheers, Vann.

    Default Tag for FB ME

The seller of the ME on FB, found the TAG it was is it's correct location based on the other ME's we have pictures of

Looking at the Test Number list there are 2 lots of numbers in this range so not sure if it's 1927 or 1936, Vann do you know? or is it one for your Wadkin contact
