Default Wadkin J T A parts and sizes info please

    Hey Everyone,

Another parts information posts and specs needed for a few things I’m missing for my recently acquired wadkin j t a disc bobbin combo. (Pictures at bottom)
First thing I need to know is the measurements for the locking nut that applys pressure to keep the bobbin seated on the shaft. See picture 1

Second thing I’m requiring is I’ve got the 2 and bit inch bobbin but no end caps for keeping it together, wondering if someone else may have one that could show me photos and a few measurements to have some made, see second photo

Third thing I need to know is what size bobbins could you buy with the j t a or j y new from factory. I’ve got the 2 and bit inch, one just under 4 inch and two 5 inch ones

According to JT and JY pamphlets, they take bobbins from 2" to 5" - with standard sizes being 2 1/4", 2 3/4", 3 1/2" and 5".

We like photos (including of the Wadkin tag).

Hi Tyler, the nut required is 1/2" BSW. I thought I had an original spare but cant find it. The original is plastic with a brass nut in the centre

I'll happily do that - but credit where credit is due - I use Wallace's website for dating info.

Thanks for that Wallace, much appreciated, was it just a nut with a flange cast around it to hold the bobbin down? Or a separate nut and washer?

That’d be great Henry, trying to make it as original as possible
