    Default Waldown drill restoration

Hello I am new to the forum so not sure if I have posted in the right thread. I have just acquired an old Waldown drill press. It’s in ok shape but bearings and chuck feel rough. I am pretty sure chuck is held on by a taper. I gave it a good go with a hammer and drift but it didn’t budge. Before I wreck it I thought I would ask people more expert than me before continuing. Basically I need some guidance as to how to
    remove the chuck
Disassemble the chuck to clean it out
Remove the spindle mechanism so I can get at the bearings
    Where to get the bearings
I have attached some pictures below
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated
    Matt

    Hi Matt.
Your in the right section of the forum but have posted at the end of this thread on Australian Machinery.
Its much better to start a new thread of your own about your drill . With its own heading, Waldown drill what ever .

For one, sometimes people wont get involved in helping when this takes place .

You questions will remain lost in what is another story.

Help and responses will be a lot better.

You just need to start a new thread in this section .

You found a Waldown in France ?

Default R and EH Sparrow thicknesser

Hi Ausannie, I'm new to this forum but just to say that I have a lovely Sparrow thicknesser in perfect original order. It is in use most weekends making all sorts of things for my children and their families.

Pictures please Mr Packard39;2219885 . A number of Sparrow machines keep showing up on rare occasions but I don't think we have ever seeing a Sparrow Thicknesser.
Table saws , Buzzers, big Drum Sanders and a Disc sander is all I remember.

Default ACE wood working machinery Band Saw - help needed

Thanks to all here for the info provided.

I have an ACE 3 phase band saw which would be circa 40's or 50's
It had a Crompton motor now dead.
It's back together and running with a weg 6 pole mining motor - sweet as
The unit a a complete beast - I'd reckon 200 Kg all up

I do suspect there are bits missing and really need some help in working out what's missing

If there is anyone that can help please let me know - I can send pics.

I also have an Aritisan 8" table saw jointer - a fantastic tool (other than the kick back ... send a piece of timber across the workshop and through the wall)

    Many thanks

So based on that, this means ACE wasn't making the machines at the time? Premier Engineering Works 80-82 Tudor St Hamilton was making them. We even exported them to China.
