I will be accepting wood work and spoon carving sub-optimal works in plain brown paper bags ready to be discreetly cremated on the day?

If I might, I'd like to come along too.
It would be interesting to see what's available should I ever have a work area with power... (DowelMax excepted I guess).

Hi Iain, you are most welcome. I'll send out a PM before the day but basically you don't need to bring anything. I'm supplying sausage sandwiches but please bring anything else you might want to eat or drink?

Default Only 11 more sleeps but plenty of time to sign up...

The Jointing System Get Together (JSGTG) is evolving nicely and there is still plenty of time and space for more people to come along. Basically, it is a group of mostly members of this forum meeting together to see, compare and potentially use the different jointing systems currently available on the Australian market. There is no sales push nor pressure as we are all users not sellers but this is a chance for you to see and try before you buy?

    Date: starts 10am, Sunday 18th June, 2017
Location: fletty's shed, Camden, NSW (about 50km SW of Sydney CBD, details will be in the PM)
Facilities: shed, toilet, off street parking (if dry!), barbecue, fire pit, covered areas
    Provided: sausage sandwiches
Confirmed Jointing systems to be demonstrated:
    • Domino
    • Trend mortise and tenon
    • Gifkin dovetail jig
    • Leigh D24R dovetail jig
    • iBox finger jointer
    • Hegner finger jointer
    • Incra positioner, finger, dovetail and other joints ( thanks to econ)
    • dowelmax dowel joints ( also thanks to econ)
    • stepped mitre joint using Infinity set up jig

Other: everyone is welcome to bring along surplus tools and timber etc to sell on the day, completed or WIP works to show off and anything else that you might want to eat, drink and/or cook on the barbecue.

No Chris. That is just sooooo 'last week'....................

The ski jump has however been replaced by a water slide...... rapidly turning into a mudslide!

Snow at your place or at mine

If this rain doesn't stop soon you're more likely to need SCUBA gear rather than ski gear?

At last count there are about 20 coming with a further half dozen 'maybes'. We had over 40 for the sharpening gtg.

    fletty

What a shame I have just heard about this now, I would love to see the iBox being used. I would also have brought my jigs to show off, Leigh D4R, Multiple Mortice and Tenon Jig and Isoloc template.

Shame too it's also so close to the Sydney Wood Show.

Hopefully next time, I'll see the post sooner.

I'll bring the bobbin for giggles. Andy's been working on a wheel for a friend but it's at a fragile stage and probably can't do the trip.
Hey, is 'Long Draw' a joining method?
