    Default Where to buy fibreglassing supplies in Melbourne?

    Gday,

    Im restoring an old fibreglass kayak and need some items such as tape, filler, epoxy, marine paint etc to complete the job. Im having a hard time finding the required materials. Ive checked bunnings etc but couldnt find anything suitable. It appears boatbits.com has everything i need but their in queensland and not sure if you can ship some of these items. Either way i'd prefer to buy them in Melbourne if possible, can anyone recommend a shop that sells a range of these items?

    Whitworths Marine will have what you need, there are plenty of other places that stock the required materials as well.

    There is a boat supplies place near the corner of canterbury and middleburg rds. they have glass and resin etc. Or HOME | Nuplex Composites is on centre rd near springvale rd.

    Whitworths marine is in Elisabeth Street, just above the CBD.

    Just up the road a little is Discount Seamart which stocks West System epoxy resin/fillers which would do the epoxy part, and they sell cloth/paint too. Whitworth will do the same, but is a little more pricy. Marginal, but comes down to brand preference I think, as they don't cross over each other's brand "Turf".

    I recently bought a 6 litre epoxy kit, plus extras, from Boat Craft Pacific online. There was no problem with shipping.
