Wanted: Builder for small wooden boat (USA)
This might be a stretch, but I figure people in this forum share similar interests albeit geographically separated. Small world, right? Here goes...
I'm looking for someone in Puget Sound region (Washington, USA) who can take on a commission to build a small wooden boat. There's literally no space for that project in my world, much to my dismay.

I'm not sure an Australian wooden boat site is the best place to find USA builders, but in your area there are quite few small and medium size shops. I have some time available, before a new double ender build this spring, though being over 3,000 miles away, shipping cost will be a bit excessive (actually not as bad as you might think).
What design are you looking to have built and are you the same person, looking to build one of the Core Sound series from B&B yachts? I've previously built a fairly modified CS-17.

best place to find USA builders
@Par, interestingly one of the first things I ran across when I got into this was a podcast of Michael Storer giving a talk in Portland, OR. I assume at least some of those folks frequent this forum. I tried contacting Harbor Woodworking (listed on Storer website) in Portland, but I get no response.
Yes, I posted this to messing-about, too, and am interested in the Core Sound.

I would be interested in your estimate for a Core Sound 17. Do you have experience with shipping such boats? Feel free to send a PM to me.

Freight shipping isn't that expensive and it's all up to the packaging (crate). You typically have two choices, drop ship, which places it at your door or hub ship, which places it at the closest distribution center. Hub shipping is a good bit cheaper, but you have to go up to this center and pick up the boat. If it's on a trailer, this simply means removing the crate (they'll lift it off with a forklift) and dragging it home behind a car. If you elect a drop ship, you have to have a way of removing the boat and it's crate from the truck, in an efficient and safe fashion. This means a chain fall or forklift. They might bitch about the chain fall, but if you're comfortable with lifting large, odd shaped things, it can go quickly and smoothly, which is what they'll insist on. I've seen drivers just look at a home owner and say "no way" and drive off with the load, not wanting to risk liability with your removal method.
Pricing on any build is dependant on two factors, primarily: the level of completion and finishes. Drop me an email with what you're looking to get (turn key, raw hull, something in between, etc.) and the level of finish (no paint, just epoxied surfaces, primer, teak decks, bright combings, transom, etc.) and I can offer a price, including shipping to the west coast. I'be built the CS-17 before and have extensive experience with the type.
My understanding is Mik (Michael Storer) is currently in the Philippines (I could easily be wrong), so tending to the web site may not be at the top of his list right now. I do know that he will eventually get back to you, at least he always has me, when I've had a question.

clarification and thank you
I'm not waiting for a response from Mik. I was referring to a woodworking establishment in Oregon, USA that claims to have built a GIS and supposedly sells kits. Maybe they are in the Philippines, too.
@Par: Thanks for your feedback on shipping. I will get back to you about requirements, when they solidify.
