Building stories
Hi all,
I've been browsing this forum for a time, and I also look at a few other forums that allow people to track and update upon their various wooden boat building activities. As well as forums, there's always a good number of blogs, weblogs, sites and places worthy of a browse-through to gain inspiration, express admiration, and just plain sticky-beak.
Now, I don't know about you all, but for me, watching people build things vicariously is almost as good as building myself and possibly more enjoyable at times as I can do it while eating chips on the couch, which doesn't work with epoxy. I find I learn so much from other's doings, successes and mistakes, and there's always something undiscovered I can find with a little help. So, Here's what I propose.
Lets turn this thread into an index of sorts. Post links to your favourite build-threads, blogs, sites and places on the web that you just love to check in with. Things that are unique, things that are just plain awesome, or things that make you cringe at times. Those lovely places you go to indulge in a little boatbuilding or sailing when you can only find lint in the hip-pocket, and your shed has a car in it...
Lets see if it takes off!
Just cos I love the stir-ven build that was a part of the site for so long.

And this is a slow one, but I like the way that he writes about his work

I'll leave off any other forum links for the moment (and there's some crackers!), until I figure out whether it's kosher.

Ooh, I like these sorts of threads, get so much from them. I've already subscribed to the two you've mentioned however these are my two favourites:
James Watriss for his humor and narrative.
And the venerable Woodgears for his brilliance and ingenuity.-Scott

Ok just for starters - just goes to show I spend too much time browsing other peoples work instead of building my own boat ( an Oughtred Grey Seal )
Enjoy

Argie 15 build
Hi
I am building an Argie 15 dinghy (Dudley Dix design) as a prelude to building my dream...a 55 foot wood and epoxy catamaran.
The blog is herAshling – this is my Dream | The physical and psychological side of catamaran buildinge. The dinghy is under the dinghy build page in the menu bar.

Because I'm building one and because this site details some lovely work.
