I have used Bunnies tassie oak(isn't vic ash the same tree?)I have had glue(epoxy) failure with this wood.I think its because of its oily texture.

As a generalisation, tas oak has more colour and is harder. Species wise, tas oak and Vic ash do overlap but in general tas oak can be one of three species while Vic ash is typically just one. Vic ash forests tend to die after bush fires even if their crowns are not scorched.
The same species will also have different timber properties depending on the climate in which they grow.
I haven't had problems with epoxy on ash. I did have problems with a different euc species that was a bit oily but I seemed to resolve it by making sure the surfaces being glued were rough and cleaned with epoxy thinner first. After several years it is still holding.
