HS is still in the shed , unfortunately.
I think my sailing days are over.

I had a yarn with Garry Stewart yesterday , eyed the magnificent recreational fishing boat he has just made.
And agreed to bring HS down on Monday.
Gee , my elbows and wrists were really complaining driving the auto Triton down there , I reckon there will be serious complaints after i have rowed the Canter , towing HS , down and back.
But I want the work done by Garry , so I'll get her there.
Garry was telling me his daughter is going to have her wedding reception in his boat building shed , now that will be something different !.
Once Garry has done his thing , I guess I'm going to have to get serious about selling her.
That will be a sad day , when she is no longer mine.

Well , I pushed HS in to Garry's shed with "The mud crab" , gee , its a lot easier than trying to back it in.
HS looked badly in need of some "spit'n'polish" , parked next to Garry's immaculate fishing boat he is just finishing.
But she will get it , some day , hopefully.

Just got a call from Garry Stewart , the problem with the dripless seal was caused by broken polyflex engine mounts !.
Beats me how that would happen , I rarely used more than half power !.
And while he had the prop out , he has changed the compass bearing , buffed up the prop , and given it a lick of propshield.
It would be nice to drop her in to the Moyne , and go for a sail with Garry , when he is finished with her.
But he is probably too busy for such frivolry.
Thinking back , I did have one day under power getting a real flogging , in to easteries , a short sharp chop , that just seemed to be a series of holes we dropped down , sometimes on our side.
I had intended hoisting sail , but all I could do was HANG ON !.

I got a call from Garry Stewart today.
HS is all sorted , and fixed up.
So , I'm bringing her home later in the week.
Dunno what I will do with her then.
Put her back in to the shed eventually , I suppose.

Well HS is back here again.
I'm glad I had the "Mud Crab" to tow here with though.
The wind was predicted to get up , but it came up a lot earlier than I expected , from the SE , strong gusting to gale force , on the rear quarter.
Not a problem to the Mud Crab though , she did it easily. No tail was going to wag this dog.
HS is probably the best she has ever been now , function wise.
Just the bright work , and antifoul , and she will be a delight to sail , for someone.

HS should be pushed back in the shed soon.
What a waste of a beautiful boat.

I guess I'm getting practised at this , pushing HS in to the shed.
She is set up beautifully , plenty of room to move around her.
No plans to ever take her out again.
Tomorrow , something pleasant , for a change.
I'm hopefully going to see the launch of a Eun Mara built by Bob Lewis . It has taken him 15 years , but MORNA is truelly a work of art.

Well , the launching of the Morna will be this Sunday.
It is forecast to be a shocking day to be doing anything anywhere near the water , but hey , we will be there !.
I think I'll start another thread for Bob and Morna , and maybe others can add to it.

Bad News , and Good News.
The bad news , I've sold HS.
The good news , is that she is going to a very enthusiastic new owner , with 3 teenage sons !.
    PERFECT !!.
So now its all about getting her prepared for her long trip to her new home.
And I'm going to go up and help them settle HS in.
If I have to sell HS (and I have to) , then I can't think of a better outcome !.
This little gal is gonna be showing off again real soon , with new owners who will keep her just right.
    PERFECT !.
    Regards Rob J.

    Thanks, Rob!

I'm the new and very enthusiastic, but very green, owner. I live near Coffs Harbour and am really looking forward to sailing with my three teenage sons. The youngest, Ed, is particularly keen and came to me with the ad earlier this week, saying we MUST buy this boat and we have. )

We will need lots of help and advice!

You will get plenty of help here David.
But first of all , you need to get to know a good wooden boat builder in your area.
And you will need to find people in your area who can help you get started on HS .
Someone in to wooden boats with a classic rig.
But once you get started , I can see the holidays being very hectic , you and the boys will have the time of your lives !.
    Regards Rob J.

HS has been delivered to Coffs Harbour.
And showed her stuff , under sail and motor.
A sad day for me , but a reality.
