Nice find.
Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.

Lovely graceful lines, the Gwen 12. Very pretty boat, even in a dilapidated state.
Cheers,
Alex.

Mary Jane... Iain Oughtred's last Gwen
Greetings from Portree, Skye.
I'm over here working on a documentary about Iain Oughtred. It's a fascinating project and one that I am personally very attached to having been a dinghy sailor and wooden boat enthusiast since childhood.
Iain is attending the Australian Wooden Boat Festival in Hobart next Feb. On my list of "things that would be wonderful" is to track down Mary Jane, tidy it up (if needed) and surprise Iain by having it on display in Hobart when he arrives from Scotland.
I see a post about a year back from a previous owner...have PM'd to follow that lead. Does anyone else happen to know where it is now, whether it survived the rigours of sea scouting over the last 25 years...or indeed someone i may be able to contact to stay on the trail?
Any feedback at all would be most welcome.
With kind regards,
Andy McIntyre

re: copyright
I am sure in the interests of historic vision to this forum i am sure they would be sympathetic to my "liberal" interpretation of the laws...but hey....if no one else in this forum would like to see the short piece of video footage of classic Gwen's from the late 50's ... it's no skin off my nose

Hi again folks,
After 18 months of shooting we now enter the post production phase on our Iain Oughtred film. We are very interested to obtain historic photographs (or film) that we might use to augment our own collection of images for the historical part of the film. Any photos of Gwens sailing during our around Iain's era, any images of Iain's Gwens, fleet shots on water or on beach etc. Enough for a montage during the narration of that thread. I see above we have some discussion re copyright. We of course clear copyright as part of the chain of title process on all of our productions, but as a reference we would be interested to see any digitised extract that might exist.
Fair winds,
Andy Mac

The end for Gwen?
Facinating history of a great boat.
Ah, those were the days, when Gwens ruled the waves and were loved by all. Now you can't even give em away! [See my thread; More Gwen].

I realise this thread has been dead for a while but I have aquired a gwen in the past couple of years which I am very slowly fixing. Only need a few bits of deck replaced and a little bit of repairs to the rigging. Would like to try find out a bit of its history but don't even know where to look. It's called amnesia and is number 2535. Any one able to help?
