P.s. can anyone tell me where to get a mast step to suit this?

The one on the old boat I got the mast off of was wooden and very rotten. I was hoping to go metal.

Or will I have to build one?

Also can someone give me some tips on bouyancy.

How many litres of plastic bottles would I need?

How much Styrofoam if I did it that way?

How many pool noodles if I did it that way?

Hi ya Elmo, I once built a TS16 and the whole under floor area in cabin and cockpit was about 4 or 5 buoyancy tanks that I created by epoxy coating/painting and fixing sole down with those small plastic inspection hatches. Either side of centrecase in cabin was only bit not tanked. IIRC it was recommended to not go with added bottles or foam for some reason, can’t remember why but maybe something to do with creating rot spots. At the time ( 1990’s) this was the current method to build.
As for your mast step I reckon you may have to build something. But use a bolt/pipe that’s the same diameter as the roundness of cutout so it supports on aluminium fully else it’ll just chew into it. I had a manufactured plug type step in mine.
