Concrete strip?

100mm thick layer of scoria or screenings (not crushed rock, you don't want fines) or 50mm layer of concrete

If it is on the boundry why is there a 200mm space

I would speak to the neighbours and see if they are willing to use the shed wall as a fence for the length of the shed and then just have your fence take off each end of it. 200mm is a pain, just large enough for animals to crawl into and die because they can't get out.

I'm no lawyer but I have a suspicion that if you were to allow the neighbours to use that piece of land and adjust the fence line accordingly then, after a period of time (7-10 years or something), the neighbours can claim title to the land.

yeah gutter overhang. It's probably more like 150mm.

I'm thinking of doing a strip of concrete, probably the easiest way.

Now how much bags of cement will I need, I presume I'll need sand as well. What about crushed rock or steel?

well, the longest lasting, I would not say easiest (damn, I will have to post pics of the concrete retaining wall & spoon drain the missus & I did a few months back!)

Lets not go overboard, you would need 2 lengths of trench mesh and then cut about 50mm off the width of them, at about $25 per length, I doubt you are going to do anything on this strip, so I wouldn't bother with mesh.

OK, at about 3 inches thick, you are going to need to make up about .2m3 of concrete. 1m3 of concrete takes .75m3 of stone (14mm screenings) .65m3 of concrete sand & 12 20kg bags of cement, you work it out )
