Default New to boat building Advice please

Hi all. I'm looking at building a small power boat. Approximate requirements Length 12ft x beam 5ft draft around 18ins. The size of motor 5 to Max 10 hp. 5hp would be preferred.
What I'm after is ideas for types and preferably full size plans available in Australia.
Thank you in advance looking forward to all helpfully information.
Just in case you haven't guessed this will be my first build.

We really need a bit more info on what you plan to use the boat for but you are in the right place to start looking and learning.

Regarding designers here are a few to get you started.

Well that looks like a great spot. Touring the southern NSW coast is still on my to do list.

Best of luck with the boat hunting I'd suggest one of the designers I listed as ply/epoxy construction is straightforward and the plans will have building guides for first timers.

    Thank you again Mike
I have contacted BMD and talked at length with Mark over 3 or 4 phone calls.
Have decided and ordered plans for their Tropic 14.
Once they arrive . I guess the fun will start

Great we will be looking forward to the build report. Watching a boat take shape is nearly as much fun as building one.

    Cheers
