Default Help with a type of boat to build

Good morning everyone, I am a new member here and this is my first post thingy.
Having always loved working with wood and now retired I feel the compulsion to build a boat, this probably covers most members here I suppose.
Anyway, what I need help with is the plans for a specific type.
When I was very young and into my teens I regularly went fishing with my grandparents, parents and friends, we would hire a timber clinker putt putt launch from Wilkinsons boat shed at Berowra Waters near Sydney.
This is what I wish to build.
Reminiscence, retirement, a love of working with wood, the challenge of trying something new, a good size work area and a suitable workshop all make this now to be a feasible prospect.
Now I need to know what type those launches were at Wilkinsons Boat Shed and plans etc.
    Any help appreciated.

    G'day VW
You might get lucky with old plans, but I wouldn't hold your breath...
Have a look at David Payne's web site http://www.payneyachts.com/motor-lau...s-designs.html
In the style of the old boats, but in modern, more readily available materials.
Easier to build & lighter too, mostly.
There may be other designers with similar work if you look widely enough.
PAR is a USA designer who frequents this forum with one or two plans that may also be in the ball park.
    cheers

Default Would Paul Gartside have some plans of interest

    VW,

Paul Gartside is well known for his interpretations of traditional designs. Do any of his appeal to you?

hi VW , I am a fan of glued lap construction , which is a modern method of achieving clinker type looks but with greater strength and water tightness. have a look at Iain Oughtred plans- he might have something suitable . good luck and happy building! Bill P
