    Default Pelin Beachcomber displacement launch

I have study plans for the Pelin designed, Beachcomber, 19' diesel displacement launch. There isn't a lot of detail, but it is a ply over timber frame design with the flare built from layers of 150mm ply strips.
I am wondering if anyone has had experience building from the older Pelin plans. They are relatively expensive to purchase on a whim, and Larry Jackson who now sells the plans doesn't know of any Beachcombers having been built.
I assume they were drawn well before the Cherry 16 plans that seem to be popular so I am not sure if i should keep looking for something designed using a more modern method.
Thanks for any help, Brent (Tasmania)
