Whilly Tern
I'm looking at getting plans for Iain Oughtred's Whilly Tern. At Jordan Boat's website, they have the scanned pages of Oughtred's design catalogue.
The page concerning the Whilly Tern says The standard rig is the standing or balanced lug, which is nearest in form to the traditional dipping lug. It is a safe and manageable rig in a variety of conditions, easily set and lowered even on the water. The gunter sloop rig is a smaller version of the older Shetland (1950s) racing rigs; it suits more serious sailors who don't mind the extra cost and complication. So the choice of rig will depend on the use of the boat, and the preference of the crew. The lug sail gives the best combination of simplicity, low cost, and all-round performance with easy handling, especially for single-handed sailing. A yawl rig is also now available.
So far I have been unable to find a seller of the plans who has any knowlege of the yawl rig. Can anybody recommend a direction for my search?

I'm no expert on this, but the only yawl rigged example I recall seeing around
the www was Paul Adkins (Atkins?) Whilly Boat built through Duck Flat in SA
about 20 yrs ago.
Possibilities...
Oughtred has tweaked his range - what is now Whilly Tern was Whilly Boat.
He may have had a yawl rig for the Whilly Boat & deleted it in the Tern.
Or it may have been a DFWB adaptation for Paul. Michael Storer (MIK) or
David at DFWB, or Rob Ayliffe at Stray Dog Boats would be the most likely
people to know. MIK currently has limited internet access, so Duck Flat or
Stray Dog might return a quicker answer.
hope this isn't a completely wrong guess..
cheers

Immediately after my original post, I checked my email and found a reply from Pat at Duck Flat. He'd spoken to Iain and all is now clear to me. Thanks for the consideration.

Pat said,
This is what Iain had to say,
"No yawl rig for such a small boat. But one guy in Sydney did it. Capsizing all over the place, for fun. All i have is lug and gunter yawls for the Tirrik. I will send you a print of that. Maybe the guy could fit the same setup into the W Tern."
Let us know what you think, cheers.

found it in Duck Flat Book of Dreams (Robert Ayliffe)
Is a Michael Storer (MIK)tweak to the Iain Oughtred Whilly Boat.
The bloke who built it (Paul Adkins) did pop up in here at one time.
But MIK would be your best bet if you really want a yawl.
He'd probably know how successful the tweak was too.
But he's a bit "internet challenged" due to location at the moment
so you'll need to be a bit patient with him..
cheers
