well there are many most people use low sheen on the walls and flat wa white on the ceiling i have used flat enamel on walls and ceilings before with good results the wall in this shower had the water hitting it there was no tiles ive been back after 2 years and it looked new
watty make a anti mould you add to paint never tried it
the building code states low sheen to be used on walls and ceilings but every new house ive ever supervised or worked in perth just has flat white on the ceiling
    hope this helps

is it gyprock ceiling and walls or just ceiling? are you using pigmented wall board sealer?
i would do 2 coats of sealer if you have enough the first coat will suck it up so the 2nd coat wont use much make sure you get a new fan too they only cost $20 for a cheap one

the walls and ceiling are both gyprock.

im using dulux prepcoat coz thats what i was advised. i can hit it with this pigmented wall board sealer u speak of for the 2nd coat.

its a reno job so new everything

regarding the new fan - i need a new one that i can duct out. this heller 2 in 1 i got has it but none of the cheapies have it. i cant install the heller coz there is not enough clearance in the ceiling. doh!

The paint shop I went to recommended Zinsser Perma-White which is a mould and mildew proof latex acrylic satin paint. It seems very important to use an anti-mould in whatever paint you use. Flood make an anti-mould product which can be added to any paints or lacquers used in the bathroom.

If you have decent ventilation, whatever paint you use will be fine. My ensuite/bathroom ceilings are Haymes Premium Ceiling paint and no mould/grime issues to speak of as we have a decent exhaust fan installed (Self closing Mistral I think).

I am renovating a bathroom that had poor ventilation and bad mould problems. Have fixed the ventilation, killed the mould and now adding anti-mould to undercoat, top coat and polyurethane on roof. Below is info about the flood product. Can imagine it could be added just to top coats if no pre-existing mould problems in your bathroom.
