Hi Rob,
No launching from me yet but if the 22nd is the day I'll get there to watch the festivities.

Afternoon too for me ... maybe middayish
West Lakes is fine ... can you check for rowing regattas? Or would you prefer a bit of a blat down the Port River?
Maybe the Port River Sailing Club? Show off our wacky alternatives?
Um ... where else ...
Sometime I want to take the pdracers down to Brighton Seacliff and do a race with them and get some race times so we can have an idea of the yardstick comparison for other boats .... but this is more a PDRacer thing.
What do you think ... good weather ... Port River ... Dodgy weather West Lakes?
Tossing ideas up here.

Checked West Lakes last night - no rowing, canoeing, dragonboat or sailing events listed on the websites.
Theory is we'd have it pretty much to ourselves.
Same for the Pat.
I have enough cordage & bricks to moor buoys in both of those.
(May not wish to recover the bricks from the Pat though - black sludge bottom...)
Port River S/C have a club day listed http://www.portriver.yachting.org.au...2&format=popup and
http://www.portriver.yachting.org.au...ub%2F13333%2F0
might be a bit busy there. Pity the Squadron isn't registered with Yaching SA.
Could have joined in. I suspect Clayton Bay SC would be a more suitable culture
to us though.
Port Adelaide S/C at Birkenhead have no list of activities on their web site, but it is sailing season so would expect
the southern end of the river to be busy as well.

Howdy ... maybe the Port River club racing is a bit of a busy venue as there will be a few people coming down without boats ... so need to be shore based.
So Pat ... or West Lakes would be best. Prefer West Lakes I guess as it is cleaner if someone does go over (ROBIN!). So Aquatic Centre again?
DONT TRUST THIS MAP.
The Aquatic park is the big, long park by the lake about 150metres north of the marker

I will be bringing a spare Puddleduck
MIKE .... did you hear ... A SPARE PUDDLEDUCK!

Sounds entirely reasonable.
Saturday Light morning shower. Min 12 Max 18
Winds SSW @ 22kts easing to S @ 20kts by mid afternoon
West Lakes Aquatic.
Noon-ish onwards.
MIK has an interesting perspective on distance.
The ramp & park we use are about 150M South of the 'D' marker in this map
http://maps.google.com.au/maps?q=map...,0.038624&z=15
Will bring Teal, 1 or 2 kayaks, & possibly SWMBO snr & jnr (got a bossy daughter)
And drums & bricks.
cheers

Hi All,
Weather looks a little out of the "fun" window. Any thoughts.

I think it will be 5 weeks before I next get a weekend off to do this.
I think I will be there anyway & grit my teeth & try to have fun.
Even if it means fighting off well-meaning nature lovers trying to roll me back into the water.

If it is really blowing the budgies out of their cages I will still go down for a quick blat.
If it is pouring with rain .... I might have second thoughts ... but it doesn''t sound terribly likely
