    Hi dai sensei,
Yes I will do so in the New Year. A branding Iron is above the cost threshold for now. All my wood work pays for the tools and accessories so it takes time to accumulate . ) I was exploring an Electric Iron, however like all irons, depends upon the amount to be done and the temp of the iron. Like all things wood take your time, do it right. Slower yet better.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you.

I already had mine. There were some $20 branding irons available from China someone was looking into but I have lost my link.

I used a Dremel with cutoff wheels to carve a steel brand in the head.
I put a wooden handle on it and use a bottle propane torch for heat.
Gives me a nice, neat 'RV' on every carving.
RV - any chance of a photo?

That may be an advantage to my branding iron, it's only 18mm in diameter.
The result is black. Burnt in and maybe 6mm discolored wood so hard to erase.
Lee Valley sells a variety of branding irons, they are really are classy and quite fine print.

You really do need to know that no matter how good the steel carving looks,
you really should have carved the whole thing in reverse. Yup, should have.
