Default Help please! Physical size of photos in thread

I’be tried to find the answer to this, honest!

When I upload pictures to a thread they always appear physically small (say 25mm by 20mm). However, I see other threads where pictures are much larger - a good example is Highly figured Tasmanian Timbers

Can anyone tell me if there is a setting or control involved or do I need to upload at a particular size. I am generally uploading at 800x600 and a file size around 200kb.

    Thanks for any help.

    Brian

If you upload images using the third icon from the right of the edit icons.
    Imageicon.jpg
This will load a small version of the image like this

    Cfinder2.jpg
If you then click on the uploaded image an dialog box will open up and you will be able to enlarge it like this.

    Bob,

Thanks for your very prompt reply. I just tried again as follows:

    1. Clicked reply to post
    2.Typed reply text
    3. Clicked the photo button upload (third from left)
    4. Dialog box asked upload from computer or URL - I chose computer.
    5. Selected photo to be uploaded.
    6. Clicked Upload photo.
    7. Thumbnail appeared in my post.
    8. Clicking on the small photo did not being up any dialog box to allow resizing - may I ask whay this dialog box looks like? All that happened was the photo was highlighted and the copy/save options appeared.
    9. Going to Manage Attachments makes no difference.

Any thoughts would be appreciated enormously.

    Best regards,

    Brian

On the Mac its a double click - might be different on Windows

Thanks, Bob! I’m using an iPad so that may be the problem. I will crank up my Windows 10 machine tomorrow and give that a try. Thanks to you I now know what to look for. I will report back in case it helps others.

    Thank you again!

Seeing that you’re using an iPad, if you use the Tapatalk app, it’ll upload the pics as a full size image

Thanks to BobL and Acco for their helpful replies.

It really was as simple as logging on with my Windows PC and following Bob's instructions. I've been wrestling with this for weeks. I should have realised that it would be a quirk of the iPad.

Acco - thanks for the tip re Tapatalk.

    Homey

I use the attachments image from the selection above(looks like a paper clip) and you have to click on the advanced tab at the foot of your post to bring up this facility. If you have started a thread I think it comes up automatiocally in "advanced" mode.

Once the pic has been inserted into the body copy you will be able to double click on the pic. This brings up another faceplate giving you several size options: Small, medium and large.

It has become apparent to me recently that there are several ways of loading pix.

    This is on a PC.

Sorry for the delayed response was at Down Under Turn Around since last Friday with no internet connection.

Another way to get bigger pics:

If you have a website you can also upload a pic from that or another site by right clicking on the pic and then on copy image address and doing the following:
    • Click on the Image Icon
    • URL tab
    • Enter the copied url
    • Deselect the check box next to Retrieve remote file and reference locally
    • OK

You should now have the same sizes image as was on your website or the one you stole it from.

The one below is from U-Beaut Polishes Water Dye page and is exactly the same as on that page.

Hope this is of some help.

    Cheers - Neil
