Make sure after you have selected the files that you go back and click on the upload button.

Depending on your upload speed it can take a while, my normal upload is on ADSL and takes a minute or so for about 600kb which this image was.

Vann mentioned that the icon method does not show all the uploads you have done and he seems to be right but I know it used to. It also does not allow multiple files to be selected and then up loaded but I can't recall it ever did as it has always bugged me that it didn't.

The "Manage Attachments" method doesn't allow this either ('though I have a feeling it did for a period a few years back).

The issue of the insert image button not being able to select and/or upload multiple images at once has been mentioned occasionally in other posts. It is something that comes and goes. For a long time on the laptop I am current using I was only able to select a single image to upload but it is now letting me select and upload multiple images. I am almost certain this is Flash or Java update compatibility thing.

barrysumpter is the last person I remember to comment on the issue and I have a vague memory he even made a question about it as his signature file for a while, but it could have been another member, Need help with finishing 2x4 treated pine bench

Thanks for your patience Chris. Still no luck, the following is what is happening to me:
    1. Click insert image icon
    2. Select from computer
    3. Click on select files
    4. Double click on image file on PC, fie name appears in box, 4.4mb size with an x in the small box on the right
    5. Click upload files
    6. Blue line moves across file name and bottom of box
    7. Box disappears
    8. After waiting 8 minutes give up in frustration

Anything to do wit file size? Was never an issue with the other method.
    Thanks again

I would say it must have something to do with it but I have never tried the other method and never uploaded a file that size because we were asked to keep the size as small as practical. If you are not on the NBN it would take forever to load a file that size, at least from my connection. I always resize large files in the old paint application in Windows but like all good things that can't be done in the new one or at least I can't find how to do it. I resize to 1500 pixels on the largest dimension and save as a JPEG as the one above was done.

Yeah right - I recently moved house and my cable connection at the old house ran at 125 MB all the time. Now I am on NBN and on a good day I get 85 MB.

On top of that I now have to pay$20 a month more for a notional speed of 100 MB which I never get anywhere near, but if I did not pay the extra for it I would only be getting 25 MB.

Same service provider, same plan. no speed boost charges when you are on cable but they do not miss you on the NBN.

Yay for the NBN - not.

Below file is 5.5mb done as per Houn's method... Took 10 seconds to load - Chrome, Windows 10 iiNet cable with slow wifi.
    P1020080-1.jpg

Problem with slow loading will be at your end.
Never seen X in small box on right apart from the one you get in most boxes to close the box. Never seen Blue line moves across file name and bottom of box either.
What windows version are you using? What internet connection do you have? What browser are you using?

Below 6.3mb Took 16 second to load
    P1020121-1.jpg

For anyone trying to loading from URL: If the load fails it will be because the check box left side of Retrieve remote file and reference locally has been checked. This box needs to be left empty for most url uploads.

Hope this is of some help.

    Cheers - Neil

Firstly, thanks to Chris and Ubeaut for your perseverance with me.
First Ubeaut's questions, I am running Windows 6.3 and using Internet Explorer. My connection is a Telstra mobile device. But I also tested hotspotting through my phone.
What have I found? Well using quick reply I cannot see the upload.... BUT.... when I click on go advanced there is the attachment and it attaches.
Why do they call me passion fingers when it comes to computers?

By the way, the 4.4mb attachment reduces to 212kb during the attachment process.

Sorry guys, this has been fixed now.

    I made the mistake of doing to big changes at once;

    1) updating server software
    2) preparing for a move to HTTPS

It looks like a redirect rule I had in place for when we move the site to HTTPS was causing the script error. Sorry!

If you notice anything still not working correctly, please post here.
