According to Google, this is what causes it. How it got on the database I have no idea, but the comments about embedded ads or videos are probably spot on.
Because of this, web browsers have adopted "fraudulent site protection," which relies on a constantly-updated database of URLs that lead to malware. Google's Safe Browsing service is the most widely used such database; Safari, Firefox, and Chrome all use this on the desktop, and Safari uses it on iOS devices. Google says, about the Safe Browsing service, that it can:

Warn users before they click on links in your site that may lead to malware-infected pages.
Check a list of pages against Google's lists of suspected phishing, malware, and unwanted software pages.
In Safari, you can temporarily get around it by going to 'Safari - Preferences - Security' and unticking 'Fraudulent Sites - Warn when visiting a fraudulent site.'

But if you're reading this, I guess you already know.

This site is FAR FROM SAFE. over the past several years I have been encouraged to embark on stupid projects and buy materials and equipment I can barely afford not to mention loss of time I cannot justify. I cannot believe you people are declaring the site safe.

    Hi guys

At 6am google sent me a notification stating the warnings will be removed in a few hours.

Thanks for your patience while this was being resolved.

    Thanks Steven.
Looks like it was quicker than expected as the warning did not come up 30 minutes ago when I first checked in.

Mobyturns, it may depend on your security settings. I'm not familiar with windows, but in Safari they can be set to get around it, although it is not wise to do this permanently. Perhaps you should check your settings.

Just got on with no Red screen.
    Well done!
Using Chrome without changing security settings.

Just for the record, it wasn't this uncle! All seems to be sorted now, many thanks to young Steven, I (we) have no idea what he is doing.

    Hi,
I find it amusing that Google are pretending to be the good guys protecting us through all this.
