Silly question or good idea?
I am throwing this in as a suggestion, don't know if its's possible or not but never will know without asking.
I have seen quite a few potentially interesting threads recently and gone to them only to discover that they are older (1-5 years) that have had a recent post to revive them, often by someone who is not aware of their age.
Is it possible, cost effective, etc to scan the starting date for a thread, and change the display colour for the originator and origination date (i.e line below thread title) in the thread list to indicate that the thread started recently (normal), 6-12months ago (say orange) or more than 12 months ago (say red).
I try to manually scan for very old threads before opening threads, but sometimes forget. From the number of old threads being reactivated, I might not be the only one suffering brain fade.
Thanks
MalI used to be an engineer, I'm not an engineer any more, but on the really good days I can remember when I was.

Good idea
I've seen this on other forums where a message is displayed pointing out the age of the thread and asking if you really want to post.
In fact, I could have sworn that this used to happen here. Perhaps the recent upgrade changed things?Geoff

I think you may be right Geoff, it must have disappeared in the new version.
Well spotted, I think it was a good feature.
I will enquire whether it is possible to re-instate that.
