New user but I'm already banned!
Hi, I'm a new user and signed up for the forum today ahead of starting my first DIY furniture project. I've tried to subscribe to a few threads and make a post in the funiture making section but on each occasion I end up with an error message saying I've been banned!

Here is the error message. Is there anything I can do to rectify this issue?
Thanks,
Sam.

We have a gremlin, somewhere in the system, that does not like new users.

Really dumb question. If sc414 has been banned, how did he manage to post that he has been banned?
Sorry mate, welcome to a great place, and I'm sure the masters will solve the problem quickly, and then you can go for it.I used to be an engineer, I'm not an engineer any more, but on the really good days I can remember when I was.

Are you connected to a VPN? I have not encountered that problem on this forum, but have on another. The message I get is "You are banned". When I switch off the VPN, this goes away.
However, with that message also come a inability to read anything on that forum. That does not seem to apply to you.

Also new to the Forum and also getting the Banned banner often.
Will be keen to see what the solution is.

for you NevGriff64, your email address is still showing it's awaiting confirmation, so find the email you had sent to you from the forum and follow the steps there, that may well help.

Good question! I'm only getting the "you've been banned" error in certain situations. It's specifically if I try to subscribe to a thread or view an image attachment. Sometimes it crops up when I try and view my account or my settings. I haven't tried to post in any other forums than this one, maybe I will be able to but I didn't want to spam post just to test!

SC414 your email confirmation is pending too. Subscribing to things would require that to be finalised, so I guess that's it. Fix your email confirmation and you should be good !

I have the same problem.
“You have been banned for the following reason:
No reason was specified.
Date the ban will be lifted: Never”
Nice welcome!

ToNew users. Also check your Junk mail folder if you can't find the forum email sent to you. Sometimes they can end up there.
If you never made a mistake, you never made anything!
