Thread: Drywall wardrobe

Actually, why would anyone build a wardrobe with plasterboard as the building material??? All that plastering and filling and sanding is a nightmare.

I can understand that for some filling and a nightmare, but that's my job.
I did a bit of drywall work, those jobs that are usually made of wood, only for economic reasons.
A large wardrobe 2.73 x 2.95 x 0.40 I spent on material just over 350 euro. Made it in three days (I do not think that I have wasted so much time).


Aside from the reasons for building, apart from my job and could not so bad, I can not understand why for some of the forums and a "waste of time".
I thought we only ignorant people here in Italy (where plasterboard works are not so much popular), but I see that I was wrong, unfortunately.
I do not want to convince anyone, everyone does what he wants. But react like that, it seems to me excessive.
I do not gain anything if things on the forum of public construction, or rather, I put only my free time, but if people respond well, will take away my public disorder and not anything more.
At least that will not be a "waste of time",,,

I reckon that you have done a marvelous job!!!! Its a credit to you and your skills with dry wall!!! I am a Carpenter and do my own dry wall fixing and setting and know how much work is involved in a wardrobe situation as you have shown in the U Tube. Your skills are not only drywall but you did a nice job on your doors for it too. Dry wall is not every ones favourite jobs, but if it has to be done then do the best you can and you have demonstrated it on the Video.
Don't be put off by others, they may be jealous of your abilities
Keep up to date with your projects, we all like to see photos of others at work.
Oh, the power point presentation was a good way to string your progress together for us to view

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but if you don't have anything positive to say it is perhaps better to say nothing at all, especially to a member whose first (or native?) language is not English.

...because it's less expensive and more generally available than anything else?

What a great result, the materials are long lasting and way more stable than timber.
