    Default Anzac Medal display frame

Hi folks, Todays project was to build a diplay case to display some war medals for a cousin. Came up better than he wanted. Back is on hinges to remove medals (which are in a felt lined box) for wearing on Anzac day. Rising sun badge at top in apex is set on a background of birds eye maple to give a "desert effect". Hope there's no Arabs looking. All done in jarrah with double fluting on uprights. Might make one for myself next.

    regards, Lionel.

    Hi Major Panic.

Dimensions are a bit wider than a standard foolscap sheet, Height is about 500mm. Uprights are about 1.1/2 inches (I still use a bit of both measurements e.g.1 inch plus 3 mil etc.Finish is shellac and traditional wax rubbed on with steel wool/green scouring pads. Unfortunately I'm not a prolific user of tape measures. I just print out the paper and make the model to fit. (Saves putting my glasses on all the time). Didn't come up too bad though eh?.

Lovely display case. Worthy of the medals that it displays. Although you may use tape measures very much the proportions of the case look good to me.

    Well worth the effort.

Hi David, not sure what you mean. The item in the triangle is a metallic rising sun hat badge attached to bookmatched birdseye maple veneer which is rebated into the top and ridges.
