Bedside table
Hi everyone
Here is the bedside table I made to match the figured red gum bed from the other weekend. It is made out of a combination of timbers (some of that reject flooring from E.Mac and Studley), but features that lovely red gum slab as the top. I used an old oven part as the drawer and some blacksmithed lizards (done by Jayn Hobba) as handles on the cupboard doors.
Tapered legs joined together with floating tenons (Domino).
Finished with orange oil and wax.
It'll probably be my last woodworking project.
Cheers
Danielle

Nice work Dan & Tom, I like the handles you used.
I hope you are not giving up woodworking. There must be still many things you'd like to make yet.

If you do give up woodwork, we will miss seeing some of the most interesting work out there. So please don't do it - you must have friends and family to give wooden projects to...

Another nice piece Dan. I like the way you pull in items from old stoves etc. in your work, and your work has a consistent style about it.
Hope you can continue to do woodwork, and that you're not being forced to give it up by poor health or anything. Please reconsider if you can.

Excellent work as usual... shame to stop now your style has progressed very much and is very individualistic.

Great work once again Dan and Tom! Your house is furnished in a really distinctive style now!!
I take it Tom is continuing in woodwork (for a living), and you Dan have found another outlet for your creativety? Please tell us more.

Hi Dan and Tom,
Yet again another outstanding piece with your usual very high standard of quality, in design, workmanship, finish, presentation and timber selection.
As others have said, I too, would be very sad to not see anymore of your work as it has been such an inspiration. However, our lives don't stand still. I wish you both the best in whatever is next for you. I hope "next" includes still being around the forums.
cheers

You have a distinctive style and I hope you don't have to give up woodworking forever.
