Bedside Tables
Have just completed these tables for the spare room. The timber is from a packing case originally from New Britain. Very hard to work, planers and thicknessers just tear the fibres, so much sanding Finished with Feast Watson Satin Proof (Grandchild proof)

Looks Great John.
I would love to know what the timber is. Has a really subtle but nice grain to it. Looks like some meranti that I used at work a while ago but I may (and probably) be wrong.Have a nice day - Cheers

Great stuff John - clean design that suits the timber nicely. I've got some packing-crate timber here that looks like striped ebony - who know where some of this stuff comes from!

I've never seen that kind of wood come from a packing crate. Great tables and great way to recycle wood.

Hi JohnM,
Lovely to see your work. The bedside tables look great and very grandchild proof! I like the size of the top, plenty of room for all those bits that end up there.
Nice to see another Toowoomba member on the board.
cheers

Yep: nice simple and sturdy looking tables. I like the rounded edge profiles used throughout the piece.
Those are my principles, and if you don't like them . . . well, I have others.
