First bench.
Latest finished project. Camphor Laurel slab bench. Natural edge with Camphor legs as well. Used a forsner bit to drill out the mortise and the lathe to create the tenon for the legs. Finished with 4 coats of polyurethane on top and 2 on the bottom and legs. The dark seam was filled with ultra-clear epoxy to stabilise before finishing. The top is bowed, it came like that but I dont have a thicknesser so decided to work with it. The legs are 90degrees to the top where they sit but because the top is bowed they kinda look like they are sitting at different angles and arent straight. The last coat of poly i did I think there was some turps still in the brush and that caused the poly to go funny in places.
I learnt a lot doing this project so hopefully next time it turns out better !!
