    Default Breadboard and cheesboard

These gifts are for a friend's upcoming 60th.
I milled the timber some 10 years ago from a Box street tree taken from the suburb where the friend spent most of her childhood.

I think the tree lopper said it was a QLD box - they are widely used here in some older suburbs as street trees.
A number of them died, especially on the tops of hills, from the lowering of the water table. I noticed a couple of years ago water trucks starting to drive around the streets in summer to keep the hill top street trees alive.

That's the trouble with non scientific names. You may end up being none the wiser!

From your comments about water my guess is that Queensland box is wht we know over here as brush box.

Was called tristania conferta but I believe the do gooders ave changed that!
