At last i have found this thread again, I have spent quite some time searching for itUntil I found the little spot where you can order the posts by number of viewsI knew this one had more views than anything else I had looked at.

Are you still around Jill? Your building project is an inspiration. Thank you so much for sharing.

    Hi everyone!

So sorry about such a long absence on here. We finally have some progress pics to put on here. We have almost finished (FINALLY!)! I don't have time right now to edit all the pics, so will post them tonight or tomorrow.

Some big news is that we are relocating back to Qld and selling up! AND will build over there - a tropical pavilion style home, all being well. The call of the tropics got too much, so we are Townsville bound, and eager for warmer climes and a more outdoor lifestyle like we are used to. We will miss our good friends here, though. We have just put our home on the market and have had one Home Open (as they are called here) last Saturday, and there will be 5 more, if it doesn't sell in the meantime. There'll be one tomorrow (Sunday) from 1 - 2 p.m., so hopefully there'll be someone who will fall in love with it!

Thanks so much to all who reply individually - we really appreciate the encouragement! It has helped us keep plugging on!

Pops - thanks for both your posts - our daughter is really well, now. The pantry and all is working as well as hoped - and we've had hundreds of bottles of preserves through there already! Now we're over the long winter, and all the wet Saturdays and time spent getting firewood, we have some finally done some real work!!

Thanks Harry. It's great to be nearing the end of it. Finishing takes a bit of stamina, somehow!!

Hi TTIT - lol - the house sitter has waited patiently indeed!

Hi Beryl - I can imagine that you'll build your own kitchen one day! And hopefully you will be able to visit and see the next place!

Hi Yonnee and thanks! You will perhaps think us crazy for leaving, but a big part of the joy is in the process of building, so here we go again!!!

Thanks Zarguld - I never used to like contrasting timbers in furniture, but this house has changed that!!!

Hi Wendy! Thanks for all the feedback. I will have to go and see your latest work, too - I've been so slack in getting on here - partly because of embarrassment about lack of progress!!!

Thanks Mickp! Shame I'm so long-winded! I should perhaps have broken it up over a few posts!

HI Alex - that's nice, thanks! We are looking forward to firing up the wood-fired oven this next week, finally!

Hi Wayne! Just for you, I am using some melamine today for the little kitchen cupboard next to the wood-fired oven! BUT it will all be well hidden until you open the doors!

HI John! Hopefully once we finish building the next home I will have the time to do some FINE furniture building - having hopefully picked up more knowledge from everyone on here!

Hi Donna - thanks for the nudge! And I didn't know about that feature (arrange by number of views!) as I had to go into my profile to find it! I'm glad you enjoyed it, as I know how much I enjoy looking at everyone else's work when I get the chance!

Thanks again for all the feedback - and I will post with pics asap. I'd just better have something to show for today, first!!!

    Cheers,

    Jill

Better start a new thread for the Townsville house Jill or you'll give Neils system a coronary No excuses like a lousy couple of thousand mile to keep me from sitting the next one - only 6 hours drive!! (Hop, skip and a jump out here eh!)

Note: You'll have to start sayin' "eh!?" again ............ eh!

HI Ironwood - we can't wait to feel warm all year, that's for sure! And have a swimming pool instead of a wood heater!!

Hi Wendy! I can't wait to start the next house, either! There'll still be loads of timber in it to keep all us woodies happy!

TTIT - hmmm - I often feel bad about how big this thread is, and will definitely start a new one for the next home! Lol - yep, no excuses about getting from Em'd to T'ville!

    Hi Jill,

Truly magnificent. Like the teddy bears and the dining table pews. You have all done a beautiful job.

Hope it sells and returns the rewards you seek.

Thanks for this great thread and the effort you take in replying to all the posts. I do share your thoughts about the winters here, a bit wet and chilly conpared to North Queensland.

We shall eagerly await the Townsville build thread.

    All the best.

    Cheers
