Default Some of my builds - test posting

I introduced myself the other day, and someone asked for pictures. So I spent some time hunting down pictures of some of the things I made. This site has a different way of posting pictures than I have ever run into before, so trying a test to see if I can actually post a photo - yes, I did read how to do it. Hopefully, this will show two of the mallets I made, they were in the house, got about a dozen or so in the shop. Yes, the handles are comfortable, the smaller mallet is actually heavier than the larger one. The ones in the shop range from a small, very light, pine mallet, to a quite large dogwood mallet that you could probably use to drive spikes. I used pine, dogwood, I think oak and hickory, and I can't recall what all, basically whatever I got my hands on.

My stupid computer is acting up again, yet, still. Will not let me reply to this thread, so I can see if I can post more pictures. All I can do is use quick reply, and hope I can post pictures with is.

Well, well, seem to have worked. Got a batch more, but tired just now. The Tiki was done with a precision tool - chainsaw, wood chisels, and some of my mallets.

Still up, so will post some more. That rifle is a single shot Marlin that I redid the stock. Redid several times in fact, and it's in the shop right now, waiting to finish up the last, hopefully, redo. It was supposed to come out orange, but the paint kept mixing as pinkish. So, once it is finished it will get an orange spray paint job. Posted a earlier picture on the Marin forum. I think it kinda upset them. hehehe

And this is the last of the pictures I was able to find. Maybe more later.

That's all the pictures I've been able to track down so far. Right now working on new cane handle designs, new way to make cane shafts, and a few other cane related things. By the way, all the cane sites say a man six foot tall should have a cane 36" tall. Apparently some 'expert' wrote that, and all the cane sites copied it, word for word. BS say I. Right now my daily cane is I think 38" tall. The next one will be 40" tall. And I am 5'7". When I go up steps, I stand on one, put one foot on the next step, then push with the cane while I lift the other foot, then when I stand on the next step, I can stand straight up, and my cane is long enough so that I can stand, still putting some pressure on the cane, and not have to bend over. I started out with a 36" cane, and kept making them a bit longer each time. My present cane is one of the older ones, it's not bad, but 40" would be a lot better. Later I will probably make one 42", just to see how I like that. The first canes I made were from saplings that had air dried in my shop for something over 10 years. Very sturdy, people said they looked great. But one day slipped on a snowy step, fell on the ground, and when I got up found out I had landed on the cane, and it had snapped like a twig, and I hadn't even noticed. That's when I changed my method of making canes. No pictures just now, and the only camera I have right now is in my phone, and it doesn't take very great photos. Maybe later.
