    Default Butchers block/kitchen island

    Hi everyone,

Haven't had anything to post before but have just finished my first project a butchers block/kitchen island. The frame is made from old fence posts and palings and the top is some leftover bench top from when I put in a new kitchen. It's deliberately rustic with the fence posts just wire brushed. I was thinking about cutting a hole up one end to add an undercounted garbage bin but didn't want to make the drawer any smaller. That's also why I didn't cut some slots for my Japanese folded steel knives. Just attached the magnetic knife block to the side and boxed it in. Anyway hope you like it as much as we do.

It looks very nice. You kept it simple and that's part of the beauty of it.

I think you underestimate yourself. We all have to start from the beginning and increase our skills from there. You have made something that not many people can not do. The first step was to have go.
