Default Chopping Block (first biggish project)

    Hi All,

I have only recently taken up woodworking as a hobby. My father passed away in December and I needed something to keep my mind busy. My first project was a small display box to store Dad's coffin flag.

This is my first project I feel comfortable in sharing.

The chopping block is made from Jarrah and Mountain Ash. The stand is pine. The block is finished with Wood Wipe. The stand is finished in Liming solution and a water-based clear coat.

    Your comments would be appreciated.

It's very nice, I like the way it's built too with traditional joinery for the drawer sliders.
How did you join the frame?

    That's really nice.

Where did you get the liming solution from?

    Thanks for the great comments.

The Liming solution came from Bunnings - in the timber stain section. Cost about the same as any other stain.

Great work Bobster - its got heaps of character.

Could you tell me a bit more about how you made it? What tools you used etc?

    Cheers
