    Default Chopping boards

I hope you are not sick of seeing my work. These 2 chopping boards are made from Kauri pine, Tas Blackwood and Tas Myrtle. Finished with 2 coats of hard burnishing oil and polished to a silky smooth surface. The woods are so pretty when polished.

The folks from Tasmania are so lucky to have so many different beautiful trees.

    G'day Scott!

    More pressies eh?

The boards look great. It's a bit hard to tell, but is that long grain up or end-grain? Might make a difference as to how well the boards last. My understanding is that traditional butcher blocks were end-grain up.

Yes, agreed, those Taswegians certainly do have some nice trees to play with. Pity about all the chippers though...

They are long grain up and I think you are right about end grain boards. My next one will be end grain up. Cheers

    Beautiful boards, Wongo.

(Pity the photos are a bit dark.)

Pretty ordinary, mate. I'd use those boards for flooring.

Actually, they look pretty good, great use of bits & pieces.

Nice light brown, dark brown, white and pink bits.

I'm sure the recipients will be happy.

And Wongo never think we are fed up with your contributions.

Nice work Wongo. Like the colour mix.
