Default Coat Rack - Number 2

This is the second coat rack that my better half made. The first one is in this thread. https://www.woodworkforums.com/f40/co...er-1-a-156371/

This was cut from the same piece of Oregon and started as a square piece. Using hand planes she turned this into a round piece for the bottom half and the top half was planed down further to keep the square with rounded corners.

The transition between the round to square I think flows quite well.

The hangers were done on the lathe by me and attached to the pole by mortise and tenon.

The base was left square with feet turned on the lathe.

Christos well done getting Bia interested in what you do is a good thing sharing time together.

A different look to the first one still has what it needs to be functional.

Can we have you mic each hanger and show us they are all the same please.

Apparently as with all hand turning there are going to be some differences. The experience turners are not as noticeable with the difference as the beginner wood turner, I am glad there is some distance between the hangers .
