    Default Cupboard in Banksia

The cupboard is now in the house, waiting to be moved into the son's room - but I have to dismantle a bed and relocate some furniture in there first, so it could sit where it is for awhile.

Here are some photos of it.

Do I have to go to the other thread to find the final finish?

Looks terrific, now you just need the matching shelves over the top I reckon.

    What they all said... Wow!

Given the way our local Banksias split, check and warp'n'twist like the buggaries, I'm a tad surprised that anyone would mill boards from 'em. I hope that aspect of it didn't give you too much grief? (S'pose I should check the WIP thread, eh?)

    Definitely worth the effort, though!

    Just beautiful!

Having done a little work with Banksia, I know how hard it is, so I am even more impressed.

excellent piece of work SilentC especially with the Banksia, can you say which Banksia it was from ..I like the grain pattern somewhat different to the Banksia I have here in WA ...got a tree down last year mostly firewood pile now but about 6foot of it still standing which I am goong to slice up into slabs to dry out.

What a difference a heap of work and polish makes, who would have thought that your pile of drying wood would turn out so well.

If that's for your son, what have you got planned for SWMBO?

    Silent,
Followed the WIP with great interest and the wood gives the piece a point of difference, great work . The youngun I'm sure will appreciate your efforts many years from now just hope there's not too much restoration required.
