Is it supposed to be that shape, or did you bugger up?
    Only kidding.
Very nice, I like the unusual shape.

    DPB,
Looks like you're working your way through Tony Lydgates book. I also have a copy and this design was the first one I attempted. Its a good way to use up small scraps and can be done using only hand tools.
There was a fourth box in this batch but it was given away before the photo was taken. The main timber used was mango with Jarrah, fig and rosewood used for highlights.
What timbers did you use in yours ?

Smile I was afraid someone would ask!

Dan, like you, I used scraps from my "should throw this away but might come in useful box".

I know that the lid is re-cycled Australian Blackbutt. I think the ears and lid-trim is Silky Oak and that the sides are Lacy Sheoak.

But if one of the BB members challenges this, I stand corrected.

I used my favorite finishing method - three coats of Ubeaut Hard Shellac, polished with EEE-Ultrashine and Traditional Wax.
