The urn was finnished with Danish oil then I applied a coat of wax to "buff' it up a bit.

I saw a photo of a glass form that I quite liked and thought that I would like to have a go at turning a similar shape in wood. The piece of black wattle had a few grub holes that dictated the final shape though. The form and urn were hollowed out with Munroe and Sorby hollowers and am quite pleased at how thin I managed to get the form's walls - suprised myself.

The Black Wattle was turned slightly green and the urn was microwaved several times. Hopefully the form got enough heat from polishing to dry it out. Black Wattle really turns nicely when green but does crack during drying if you are not carefull. I found that a light application of wax seems to help - before microwaving.
