    Default Kitchen Table

My latest project for the Missus,
Tabletop is a slab of Bloodwood (relative of Jarah apparently). The rest is Jarrah which I have added stain to get even colour.
The finish is organoil with the top wet sanded to 2000 grit then waxed and rubbed with 0000 steel wool. I used car bog and black oxide to fill the sap holes and other imperfections which sanded nicely and accepted the oil as well.

Anyone got a good chair design ??

Table does look nice Al, but I have to rain on your parade a bit - you STAINED Jarrah

Col: A bit of help needed here wrt the Code: Shouldn't it proscribe staining precious timbers, and any such violation be met with the severest penalties

Great table Al - love that slab!

Which Organoil did you use - their hard burnishing oil? Looks great & I'm sure it feels great, too, with the oiled finish!

    Cheers,

    Jill

Default Yes I used stain on jarrah

The cross rail and some of the frame were significantly lighter after dressing the timber so I darkened it down some to even out the colour.

Yes I made the dresser as well.

I used the hard burnishing oil and it feels silky to the touch.

Thanks for all the positive responses

Nice work Al, I do like the filler that you used - makes a good feature, I also like the curved top, well done.

    Cheers,

    Thumbs up

Quality work mate and there is nothing wrong with the buffet either.

Don't stain Jarrah next time. It is illegal.
