    Default Library in progress

    Hi Folks,
I thought I'd share with you my library in progress. Up to the third section now as you can see - and more to come. Someone was asking about bookshelves somewhere here recently and this is my solution. Each section is separately built out of 19mm veneer ply with the trim and frame out of Western Red cedar. All the shelves are adjustable and have added 19mm front and back for extra strength. I added a steel bracket at the top into the brick wall - just in case!

    Looks great. Well done

Suggest for the full effect you need a floor to cieling, sliding ladder.

Just to give it that Spencer Tracy feel.

Great system - looks really good. Pity I'll never have enough books to bother with one myself!

J, looks facinating. Like to see more pics. It looks like a Morris chair and a Shoji to the right, and the old photos up top? they also look interesting. Looks like you will end up with a terrific library

What everyone else said! Pity I can't use something like that here, I love the look. With or without the ladder.

IMHO the steel bracket was a good move... one problem I've found with floor height shelving is toddlers seem to think they're ladders.
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.
