Love the wood - but have to say I'm not a fan of the glass.
The table's form is just right, though. Still don't like the glass - but that's your choice, and if you like it, then that's fine too

Exceptional, not nearly praise enough, but the best I can do. Oh and a greenie.
Boring signature time again!

Thanks guys & gals
The glass sits in rebates - took a bit of care to get the fit just right, and it doesn't seem to want to slide around or anything.
With the top I brushed on two coats, then sanded with 400 grit, then wiped on another 6 coats, then wet sanded with 800, 1200 and 2000, then EEE, then wax. Not perfect, but I'm pretty happy with it.
The rosewood came from www.woodcentre.com.au
The chairs will be rosewood and leather or suede - but beyond that I'm not sure on design. I'm looking for ideas if anyone has seen a nice modern-ish design. The Australian Woodworkers Database - over 3,500 Aussie Woods listed: http://www.aussiewoods.info/

Very nice Dazza. I too like the contrast. Have the tin lids spilt anything on it yet? assuming you have tin lids that is!

I saw this table during construction, and the joinery work in it is as fine as any I've ever seen.
Another good one mate.

Beautiful work Darryl - suitable destiny for such great timber. BUT!! I thought we were going to see something from the new lathe first???

My dad actually is the only one to use the new lathe so far - first time he's stepped up to one in 30-odd years and he turned out a nice jacaranda bowl the other weekend.
The table did give me a chance to give the new Jet cabinet saw a workout, the new bandsaw, and the new Dewalt routerThe Australian Woodworkers Database - over 3,500 Aussie Woods listed: http://www.aussiewoods.info/
