oriental sleigh bed
at least that's what I'm calling it . it's queen sized, and made of figured and spalted maple, and yew wood. finished with waterlox and wax. It's a comission for a wedding present for the customers son and wife. I left waney edges (and open space) on the ends of the panels as a way of allowing them to expand and contract freely.
the wood turned out to be way more figured than what I thought when it was rough sawn. if anything it may even be a little too much. Beautiful though
anyway, I miss you guys. thanks for all the emails and pm's. and thanks for making me promise to post the pics of this when I finished. Hope all are well. Have a good one!

Marvellous work, Ryan.
You've done a great job in keeping your craftsmanship up to the level of that exquisite wood. Well done!
Good to know you haven't let your standards slip while you've been quiet!

Absolutely a brilliant and beautiful piece Ryan! well done. I could spend ages just looking at the bed....so much to see...your client will be well over the moon!
Couple of questions.
Are the 2 Quilted posts laminated? and just wondering why you didn't use some figured gear for the other 2 posts?

Hi Ryan!
Good to hear from you again
FANTASTIC bed! A little curious why you chose the beautifully quilted wood for the two left-hand posts, but not the right-hand ones? His and hers, perhaps? (He gets the left, of course )
How's the house coming along?

Very beautiful bed, Ryan! Very stunning timber, too!
Have you started your home, yet - or are you letting the logs season?
Cheers & it's great to see you around!
