    Default Pohutukawa bowl

Made this today, turned green and oiled, hopefully it won't crack too much when it dries out.

Can be hard to get bigger bits, got to keep an eye open.
Hoping the oil will keep the cracking down while the water moves out.

Lance, is that the name of the timber you have used for the bowl, pohutukawa ? hardwood or semi ? i think you have captured a lovely shape there , be keen to see it once it dries out for you.

Nice bowl, are you sure its pahutukawa ? I remember it as very smooth pale grey with no medullary rays but I might be mistaken. That bowl looks very much like Banksia.

looks sick. If it cracks you can try repairing with gold like those Japanese bowls, would look awesome.
