Recent custom order
This memory piece will probably be one of the most special that I got to be a part of. "Dad" came to me a couple months ago with a request to make a custom piece for his son as a graduation gift. His son is the captain of the 2006 district champions basketball team. The boy made the winning shot and they got a pic of the shot. Thru out the season several of the newsaper articles called his son the "unsung hero". He was a defense player therefore didn't score a lot of points each game but kept the other team in check. Using a copy of the pic and the last newspaper article scanned in to my puter....I designed this piece and just delivered it the other day. Graduation is this coming Sunday. I used acid free parchment cardstock to print out the article and burned the edges. District championship medal in upper left corner.
The piece is cut using 1/4" oak for the overlay and lettering. 1/2" walnut for the backer. 1/2" oak and 1/2" walnut bevel cut for the base....

Very nice piece, I think that the son will be just rapt that his dad thought enough to have it made.
Cheers Peter

Top job Lin. Both father and son will be proud of your work, and each other.

If he gets it without working for it; he's a parasite; and if he accumulates it after a life time of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life."
