Thanks everyone for your kind words. I guess I'm just glad I stayed out of my own way and let the timber speak!

    Assembling the Drawer.
This started off to be a radiata pine box screwed to a Red Gum fascia. I decided to make the side panels out of Red Gum to give a little contrast. The bottom of the drawer is coated with black baize, imported from England sand supplied by Carroll's Woodcraft Supplies.
Pic 1 shows the evil Leigh D4R being used to cut pins for the doveys.
Pic 2 shows the front panel having the dado for it's base routed.
Pic 3 shows the drawer with out the baize. The base is 6mm ply wood.
Pic 4 shows the drawer with the baize, glued up.
Pic 5 and 6 show the drawer in situ, "closed " and "open"

Tomorrow, I will finish the drawer and mount the top using Dominoes as buttons.

Its been a pleasurable build and I'm happy with the result.

    Regards,

    Rob

So this is just to finish the story. I used dominoes for buttons to hold the top on. I cut a 8mm 2x mortise, into the back and front rails then screwed an 8mm domino into the top. Works a treat.
And here are some photos of various bits of the table (and the whole table too)
Pic 1 is from the front, pic 2 is from the back.

    Thanks for reading.

    Regards,

    Rob
