Default Redgum Fish by George C[something] - Are you here?

A few weeks ago I spied this magnificent beastie in a gallery/store in Yarragon (Vic) and wondered if it was made by someone here.

It was silky smooth to the touch and the "fillets" that were strung together made it move just like a real fish would. The thing felt I'd just caught it!!! It was amazing. And now, the person I saw it with is planning to purchase it as a gift for their father who is a mad keen fisherman.

It's a beautiful piece of work and one that deserves a good ol' pat on the back. Seriously great stuff

    Default That Fish.

    Hi RS Guy,
They are made by George Chirnside, who makes them by the 100's, in all different sizes.
George lives in Wallington, just outside Geelong Vic.
When I last visited them there were 4 people working there.
The wood is Jarrah, & yes, he does a very fine job.
    Regards,
    issatree.

If I am not mistaken didn't George do a presentation for one of the combined Geelong woodworking club nights Issatree?

From what I remember he didn't spend much time covering the fish but he did an excellent presentation.
