Default Ruff as guts outdoor table.

Groovers, I went on a firewood patrol and discovered some relatively straight yellow box trees. I decided to save them from the fire and borrowed a chainsaw mill from one of the locals and split the logs (approx 200mm dia) and them milled the other edege to get a sawn boared. Check the pics.
Put them through the buzzer and planer down to 40mm thick.
The breadboard ends were glued with constructio adhesive and each board has 2 x 100mm battern screw through it. I hope it will hold.
I undeerstand that this is not really high standard w/work but I believe that this is some really beautiful timber. I dig it!!!!!! more to come regarding the base. Damien.

Theres always a place for rustic furniture, personally I love that style. Really brings out the character in the wood. Its also nice to see you giving a new life to those logs that would other wise have been turned to ashes.

true I cant wait until I get a couple of coats of oil on the yellow box. Straight from the planer the grain was already glassy. I'm stoked.

Looks good on the inside, what are you going to seal it with to keep it looking good?

Thanks Ding.... but, if you don't seal it, it will just go grey like the outside.

Groovers I have finished the table with the addition of some farm junk to add character and some castors for movability. You can see a lovely piece of tin that was belted flat to cover a very ugly measuring mistake
Have a look and see. Damien.

I gotta admit i was a bit sceptical when i saw the pics in your first post.

But the finished product looks bloody brilliant.

Are some seats in the same style on the way.
    Would look even better then.

Really good job. I love it.

    Steven.
