Talking Out of the Sawdust Cloud......

....Comes my first item built in my 98% completed shed.

Three days of pure bliss turned into, finally, my first shed fixture - a Darkside Cabinet:

. one Reclaimed Solid Silky Oak noticeboard
. other silky oak odd bits from the stockpile
    . some lovely dark-royal purpley-blue felt
    . finished with Wipe-on Poly
. supported by a Silver Ash bar with a couple of ears to help keep the top attached to the wall - "Shhhhh here she comes! Norman, George, Elmo, Svenn and all you Chisels and Planes, stop playing leapfrog and get back in your places," says Crowd Controller.....

Yep, I'm back and it feels good. May I never have to stop woodwork for another 4 months ever again!!!

    Cheers
    Wendy

PS This collection was only made possible with help from Forumites such as Major Panic, Wood Borer, Gnu52, Soundman, Derek Cohen, Wizened of Oz, my Uncle Phil and Les Neilsen.

    Thanks Guys!!!!

    It is a beauty.

How do you keep those curtins clean?

The curtains are only fill-ins until I get better ones, with red ribbon

How to clean them, why take them down, lay them on the floor and run the dust extract sweeper over them of couse Besides, they shouldn't need cleaning for ever cause they are the same colour as sawdust, well, camphor laurel sawdust anyway

    Very nice, Wendy.

Someday, I will have a new shed and be able to set it out how I have always dreamed!!!

BTW have you seen the way UKAlf is storing her plane collection - her blog on this is very interesting.
    Cheers

Wendy, glad you've got your workshop mostly sorted. And very nice display of darkside tools there. They're addictive aren't they?

The brush is still in 'quarantine' as it doesn't have a place in the cabinet yet.... but it will

Thanks for the UKAlf link - very interesting setup. She's right about not making the setup permanent as some planes will come and go.

I purposely left space up the top for growth, that I'm sure will happen.

Now that the cabinet is built, I can get into restoring and cleaning the planes, sharpening..... all that fun stuff

    Default Curtains in the shed??

Hi Ruffy, Glad you are back in action, I know what it like to NOT be able to play for a few months, & it is no fun what ever the reason.

Curtains in the shed Wendy? I don't know... maybe just a bit too girly.

Great work on the tool cabinet.

    Curtains? What curtains?

Oh, do you mean the Ruffly Rustic TM Dust Collectors and Tack rags?

    Well done Wendy,!
Finally in the shed and making it yours in no time! Fill all the available space before the hubby finds out he could store EH parts in there...
Nice work on the cabinet too, I look forward to coming over for a better look.

    Cheers,
    Andy Mac
